Warriors owner Joe Lacob said the team got its draft pick of Yaxel Lendeborg right. Speaking on 95.7 The Game, he said some teams never get it right, and that Golden State did with this one. Lacob also said Lendeborg has exceeded what the team thought he could be and that the rookie has no weaknesses.
Lendeborg scored 37 points against the LA Clippers on a Sunday. The Warriors have won five straight games after opening the season 0-3. The turnaround coincided with the rookie's emergence.
Lacob also acknowledged past misses on higher draft choices. He said the team did not get the draft exactly right, or perhaps the development, on a couple of other higher picks.
