Wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk has hired Drew Rosenhaus as his agent, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Aiyuk remains on the 49ers' reserve/left squad list and needs reinstatement before San Francisco can trade or cut him.

Wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk has hired Drew Rosenhaus as his new agent. The goal is getting Aiyuk back to work and playing again in the NFL. Aiyuk had gone the better part of a year without representation before the hire.

Aiyuk was nearing a decision on new representation as he attempts to resume his career. He is trying to get back to the NFL and onto a team.

Status with the 49ers

Aiyuk is on the San Francisco 49ers' reserve/left team list, where he does not count toward the 90-man roster or the salary cap. He is not on the roster, and the 49ers are not responsible for paying him. He is still under contract with San Francisco, and the team still holds his rights.

To change his status, Aiyuk must apply for reinstatement. He needs formal league reinstatement before the 49ers can cut or trade him. Until he files, he effectively can't do anything related to the league. The NFL trade deadline is Nov. 10.

The Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office issued a warrant for Aiyuk's arrest on a misdemeanor charge of exhibition of speeding on June 3rd.
