The Pittsburgh Penguins (5-7-2) host the Vegas Golden Knights (9-5-2) on Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET. Sidney Crosby needs one point to pass Marcel Dionne for sixth place on the NHL's all-time list, and Mitch Marner brings a 10-game point streak.

The Pittsburgh Penguins (5-7-2) host the Vegas Golden Knights (9-5-2) on Tuesday at PPG Paints Arena. The game starts at 7 p.m. ET. Before the game, Vegas had 20 points and sat second in the Pacific Division, while Pittsburgh had 12 points and sat sixth in the Metropolitan Division. Pittsburgh will wear its Hometown Remix jerseys for the first time in this game.

Crosby closing in on Dionne

Sidney Crosby has 1,771 career NHL points and is tied with Marcel Dionne for sixth on the league's all-time list. One more point would give Crosby sole possession of sixth place. Tommy Novak is expected to play his 300th NHL game against Vegas.

Vegas arrives with Marner on a streak

Mitch Marner had points in 10 straight games heading into the game, totaling one goal and 14 assists for 15 points. He ranks 10th in the NHL with 15 assists. Vegas lost 3-2 in a shootout at the Boston Bruins on Monday, the first game of its East Coast trip. David Pastrnak scored the only shootout goal. Adin Hill should start in goal for Vegas after Carter Hart made 25 saves in that loss.

Lineups and injuries

Vegas's projected first line is Ivan Barbashev, Jack Eichel and Mark Stone, and the second line is Brett Howden, William Karlsson and Marner. Victor Olofsson (lower body) and Parker Wotherspoon (upper body) are on Vegas's injured list, and Raphael Lavoie and Viliam Kmec are scratched. Pittsburgh's projected first line is Novak, Crosby and Rickard Rakell. Arturs Silovs gets the start in goal for Pittsburgh, according to Dan Muse.

Penguins roster moves

Justin Brazeau was recalled Monday from a two-game conditioning loan with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and could make his season debut. He missed time after a preseason lower-body injury. Defenseman Jake Livanavage was recalled from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Tuesday. The Penguins lost 5-4 to the Montreal Canadiens at the Bell Center on Saturday.

Season series history

Vegas beat the Penguins 6-2 at T-Mobile Arena on Oct. 17. Mark Stone scored two goals and added an assist in that game. Pittsburgh has never lost a season series to Vegas since the Golden Knights entered the league in 2017-18.
