Ben Wang is in negotiations to play Bobby Drake, also known as Iceman, in Marvel Studios' "X-Men" reboot, and the deal has not yet closed. His casting has not yet been made official. Marvel Studios could not be immediately reached for comment.

Other names allegedly interested in the Iceman role include Gabriel LaBelle, Jackson Kelly and Rhenzy Feliz. Those three are also described as actors who tested for the part.

If the deal is made, Wang will join a cast that includes Sadie Sink as Jean Grey and Kit Connor as Cyclops. Christopher Abbott is cast as Professor X, and Adam Driver will play Mr. Sinister. Samara Weaving plays Emma Frost, Maya Boyd plays Storm, Asa Germann plays Angel and Inde Navarrette plays Rogue.

Jake Schreier is directing the film from a script by Lee Sung Jin and Joanna Calo. Schreier previously directed Thunderbolts. The film is set to open in theaters on May 5, 2028.

Wang appears in the upcoming "The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping" as Wyatt Callow, a District 12 tribute.

Iceman was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby and first appeared in The X-Men #1 in September 1963. The character was previously played by Shawn Ashmore.
