The estate of the late Dolly Parton has filed to dismiss its lawsuit against her nephew and former head of security, Bryan Seaver. A Thursday (Nov. 5) court filing voluntarily dismisses the estate's claims against Seaver without prejudice, meaning they could be refiled in the future. The details of the resolution were not immediately known, and attorneys for Parton's estate did not respond to a request for comment.

The original allegations

She's Alive LLC, the entity managing Parton's posthumous affairs under manager Danny Nozell, sued Seaver in September. The company alleged he had been trying to extort money by sending violent threats since Parton's death a month earlier. It also alleged that before Parton's death, Seaver threatened to destroy the entire brand over a disagreement involving Dollywood.

Seaver denied the allegations. He said Nozell took his text messages out of context and turned a private, profane and friendly exchange between longtime friends into a claim of terror.

Parton died of cancer at age 80, and Seaver announced her death in August in a prerecorded video.
