Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson hurt his right thumb on Baltimore's first offensive snap against Buffalo and was ruled out. He was returning from a three-game ankle absence. Backup Tyler Huntley later left with a toe injury, and undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano took over.

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was ruled out against the Buffalo Bills after hurting the thumb on his right throwing hand on Baltimore's first offensive snap on Sunday. He was ruled out in the first quarter. Jackson returned after missing three games with an ankle injury, then suffered the thumb injury and was quickly ruled out.

Jackson was returning from a three-game absence due to a high ankle sprain. The ankle injury had kept him out before the Week 8 game against Buffalo.

Tyler Huntley had started the Ravens' previous three games. Baltimore went 1-2 in those starts, and Huntley completed 2 of 4 passes in relief of Jackson before exiting. The backup was ruled out after hurting his toe early in the second quarter, which left the Ravens with third-string rookie Joe Fagnano. Huntley was hurt when Buffalo's Ed Oliver spun him down on a tackle.

Fagnano, an undrafted rookie from UConn, stepped in as the team's emergency third quarterback. He made his NFL debut after the injuries to Jackson and Huntley against Buffalo. Running back Justice Hill was the emergency fourth quarterback if Fagnano could not continue.
