Inde Navarrette hosted Saturday Night Live on its Oct. 31 Halloween show in Season 52, with Gracie Abrams as musical guest. The episode marked her hosting debut, following her scream queen debut in "Obsession". Navarrette is a breakout star of the 2026 horror hit. The episode aired at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.
Monologue targets Shane Gillis
Navarrette included a dig at previous host Shane Gillis in her monologue. She joked about his sexist opening monologue from the last episode, and she also teased her upcoming MCU role and said she has to get into Marvel shape. Her line about putting on a certain outfit every morning before hitting the gym was a callback to Gillis' monologue from the Oct. 10 episode, the most recent one he hosted. The joke drew major laughs and applause.
Navarrette said in the monologue that she has been cast as the superhero Rogue in the new X-Men movie. She will next portray Rogue in Marvel Studios' X-Men reboot. She also said she is nothing like the character Nikki from Curry Barker's "Obsession" and revealed her boyfriend, who was taped to his studio audience chair. Her boyfriend, Nick Aiello, was shown in the audience during the monologue.
Cold open and musical guest
In the cold open, James Austin Johnson's President Trump interrupted Tom Hanks' return as David S. Pumpkins. Nicki Minaj, played by Saidah Belo-Osagie, appeared as Trump's new friend and future press secretary.
Gracie Abrams was the musical guest on Navarrette's episode. It was her second SNL musical guest appearance, after her debut in December 2024.
Season 52 and what's next
Season 52 began with Jalen Brunson, Dakota Johnson and Shane Gillis hosting the first three shows. Druski will host SNL on Nov. 7 with The Strokes as musical guest. John Mulaney will host on Nov. 14 with Phoebe Bridgers as musical guest.
