Prince William and Prince Harry each wrote letters of congratulations to this year's Diana Award recipients, 198 young people from 44 countries. The brothers sent separate messages rather than appearing together. The charity's chief executive praised the winners' courage, compassion and determination.

Prince William and Prince Harry each wrote letters of congratulations to young people honored with the Diana Award, the charity set up in their late mother Princess Diana's name. The charity said the brothers wrote separate letters to each of the 198 winners from 44 countries. William and Harry sent separate messages rather than appearing together.

Dr. Tessy Ojo CBE, chief executive of The Diana Award, said the recipients' courage, compassion and determination are a reminder that young people are the changemakers of today.

The Diana Award is the only charity that carries Princess Diana's name and the only one shared by the estranged brothers. It is the only charity established in Diana's memory that both William and Harry continue to support. William is 44 and Harry is 42, and they have largely gone their separate ways amid an ongoing family rift.
