Sony released PS5 firmware update version 26.07-14.22.00, whose official changelog lists only one change: some security fixes to the system software. The update contains very few changes aside from modifications to overall system security. According to the author's assessment, the firmware revision appears to combat, or attempt to combat, the most recent PS5 jailbreak ahead of GTA VI's launch.
Background on the Relapse exploit
The previous public exploit, Relapse, only supported PS5 system software up to and including build 13.60. The jailbreak community had extended support for Relapse up to firmware 13.60. In version 14.00, Sony patched the vulnerabilities used, so newer versions were considered unsupported by public jailbreak methods.
