Joyce DeWitt is remembering a special final dinner with her "Three's Company" costar John Ritter. DeWitt, 77, recently recalled a dinner with Ritter that she almost missed. She said the evening was extraordinarily special because she did not know it would be the last time they hung out together.

In August 2003, DeWitt happened to be in New York at the same time as Ritter without knowing it. Paparazzi alerted her that he was in town, and she called to see if he wanted to hang out. Ritter called her back right before she left her hotel room. DeWitt said that if he had called one minute later, she would have been out walking to Lincoln Center on her way to a movie.

The two went out to dinner with Jim Belushi. They spent the evening at an Italian restaurant in the Village.

Ritter died suddenly at age 54 after an aortic dissection in 2003. DeWitt and Amy Yasbeck will host a "Three's Company" 50th anniversary celebration on Monday, Nov. 2, in New York City. The event is meant to raise funds for the John Ritter Foundation for Aortic Health.
