Some Social Security payments will go out a day early in November 2026 because of Veterans Day. Recipients born from the 1st to the 10th are paid Nov. 10, while later birth dates are paid Nov. 18 and Nov. 25. SSI payments are issued Oct. 30.
Some Social Security payments will go out a day early in November 2026 because of the Veterans Day holiday. Veterans Day, Nov. 11, falls on a Wednesday this year, so the first November installment of regular payments is sent on Tuesday, Nov. 10. Beneficiaries with birth dates from the 1st to the 10th are paid on that Tuesday instead of the usual second Wednesday.
Payments are tied to birth dates: the 1st to 10th receive benefits on the second Wednesday, the 11th to 20th on the third Wednesday, and the 21st to 31st on the fourth Wednesday. Recipients born between the 11th and 20th are paid on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2026. Those born after the 20th are paid on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2026. The full November schedule is Nov. 10, Nov. 18 and Nov. 25 for the three birth-date groups. The SSA's 2026 calendar shows benefits issued Tuesday, Nov. 3 to people who began receiving Social Security before May 1997.
SSI benefits are usually paid on the first of the month, and when that day is a weekend or holiday, payment is made on the preceding business day. Because Nov. 1 falls on a Sunday, no SSI payments will be issued in November, and they go out on Friday, Oct. 30 instead. The SSA calendar lists SSI dates of Oct. 30 for November, Tuesday, Dec. 1 for December and Thursday, Dec. 31 for January 2027. The first SSI checks to include the 2027 increase will be paid Dec. 31, 2026, and the COLA will start showing up in January Social Security payments.
