Savannah Guthrie issued a new plea on Sunday for information about her missing mother, Nancy Guthrie, nine months after the 84-year-old was abducted from her Tucson, Arizona, home. The "TODAY" co-anchor shared an emotional Instagram post on Sunday, November 1. Sunday marked nine months since Nancy Guthrie was reported missing from her Tucson home. She was reported missing on Feb. 1.
What Guthrie said
Savannah Guthrie said her family cannot move forward until they know what happened to Nancy Guthrie. She wrote that the family cries out for answers. She pleaded for anyone with information to come forward and said the reward is still available. She begged the public to share what they know. Guthrie is offering a $1 million reward in the case.
The post included a drawing by Guthrie's young daughter showing a blue umbrella surrounded by raindrops. The drawing carried a message saying that, although it might not seem so, the child really needs her mommy.
Investigation update
Authorities have said the crime involved a ransom demand. A task force is still chasing leads. The Pima County Sheriff's Department said on X that the task force traveled to Florida to meet with lab scientists to see what more could be done to advance the case. The department said Friday that the Nancy Guthrie Task Force was continuing to work with laboratories to advance DNA analysis, and that investigators made the Florida trip earlier in the month.
Nanos urged the public to report tips, saying no tip is too small. People with information can call 88-CRIME or 1-800-CALL-FBI.
